(Author's note: This isn't supposed to make fun of the soldiers who fought in WWI, this is an assignment my history teacher has given us. I know a few sentences will be off, but keep in mind, I did what I could. I got into the feel of a soldier who served, but I felt a bit uneasy while describing shellshock, due to me personally never seeing it, only seeing a few pictures. So please don't come after me with your own stories from a grandparent. This is just an assignment from class. Thank you. Now, here's the letter from a trench, the soldier is named Reese Redfield, and in the original letter, i misspelled Reese's name since it's 00:12 in the morning, and i was thinking of both Reese and Rhys.)
Dear Valkyrie,
It's been too long since I've sent you a letter. I'm sorry about that. But, I hope this makes up for the lost time. Some buddies of mine were reading the letter you sent me a few months back, guessing they never heard of personal boundaries. Then again, we were up late at night in the fox hole we were stationed in. It's normally quiet at night, which I guess should be a good thing. But sometimes, and only sometimes, a soldier would come back, uniform a mess, face covered in dirt, and hair unkempt. We would all ask what happened, to which they would tell very funny stories. One of which was about his fall into a random hole and having to climb back out.
For now, the food's been alright. If it comes over to us warm that is. Yeah the food's trash, but it's all we have. I miss our father's cooking and mother's cookies. I hope you and Jordan are doing alright while this war's going on. I know mother's gone and father's doing the best he can. Just make sure that Jordan stays out of trouble. I know how he gets when I'm not around for more than 4 hours. Just that this damn war's been going on for so long.
The reason why I'm asking you to look after him is that I just saw one of my buddies, a man named James Roberts, came down with something. They said it's due to the harsh winter. They're calling it shellshock. Jesus Christ, the look on his face when I ran over to check on him. He was smiling but, it looked like he wasn't there. A photographer came by and took a picture of him. That face, I can't get it out of my head. Another one of my buddies, Jonathan Newman, was crying in hysterics. Like with James, I was with him. Another god damn photographer took a picture of both of us. The captain told him to not help, as our medics were already busy with others who had trench foot. I was one of the "lucky" few who didn't get it. Like that would be some sort of award they would pin against our chest.
I've been writing enough now, one of our captains just walked in, so I'm going to have to send this now. I hope you guys are alright. I love you all.
sincerely,
Reese Redfield, 1st. lt., 108 first battalion

Tucker, is a good friend of mine. We have created a D&D group in our school. There's 8 of us, we all have a character with a history that intertwines with one another... and the reason why we're called Walking Jinxes is that my character and another's character always have bad luck while around each other.
Armin Ranger: The team leader of Walking Jinxes. Whenever they settle down, he entertains the local people (and his team) of the village, town, or city they’re in. Even though he’s the leader, he normally lets Edge lead if they’re on a research quest since he gets bored with learning. He is 34 years old, the third youngest of the team. With this in mind, he knows what should be amazing adventures, even if it means running away a lot. (Which is a lot… Thanks, Tucker)
Edge: Edge is...… full of mystery. No one knows where he came from, apart from the fact that he is an elf whose race has fixed themselves with technology, just why? But he is one half of the reason why this group is called Walking Jinxes. Both him and Ersa can’t be within 3 feet of each other unless they want total chaos to ensue (I.E, Oozens out of nowhere) He is 220 years old. Only a few times, in a village, or town, or city, he starts playing music. Apparently being songs he’s heard from the years he’s been alive. Passing down those songs he’s heard too many other music players if the mood is right.
Ersa Dragonfly: (this is me) A deva with the mind of a child, a heart of gold, and a tendency to break stuff while dancing on tables (she has a voice in her head that tells her things, which that voice is me so... yeah). Even with this childlike mind, she is deadly with her bow. She’s the eldest of the Walking Jinxes team; being 315 years old. Although her current form (Girl with light purple skin, a blue eye, white hair with the marking from her arms on her hair but blue) is new to her since she had it for 4-5 years, her original form was of a young man with light blue skin, dark blue eyes, and black and white hair, but the same symbols on her arms and hair. And yes I said eyes since she had both when she met Edge, but in trying to save him from impending death, she stepped in front of him and took an arrow to the eye. But both of them are still good friends.
Rocket Arrow: Rocket is a funny dwarf. He’s the youngest of the group; age 16. Although he may crack jokes, he’s a mute, the way he talks is through his best friend, and adopted sister, Sara. Despite this, Rocket seems to curse a lot and can be easily angered resulting in a mesh of other jinxes that weren’t caused by Ersa and Edge.
Sara Lee: She is the oldest step-sibling of Rocket. Even though they don't talk to each other, she had developed a crush on Ersa. She is 29 years old and thinks nothing of age whatsoever. She was an entertainer of…. Sorts. But she just likes dancing to music now whenever Edge starts playing, or if they’re at an Inn for the night(s).
Khoshekh: He is a High Elf Fighter. Although a fighter, he has a noble background once living in a kingdom as the prince of the Dark Realms. But he left with whatever money he could grab (63,666,902 gold….). He bumps into Armin (who both have the same hairstyles except in different directions) who asks if he wants to be escorted to the nearest town since he didn’t know where he was going…. THAT SAME TOWN, I’m not gonna say thanks to who ends up getting attacked by a dragon… This is the 5th dragon encounter the Walking Jinxes had encountered, but following that dragon was an army of Dragonborns, enemy dragonborns. But with the help of Khoshekh, they manage to stop the attack, and this boi might be a powdered nosed elf, but he can protect and attack.
Pearl: A human monk, and the third female in the group. She is fairly young but also was found in the snow, with no fur clothing. So Ersa gave her some fur clothing, the only one she had… So she was left with a short-sleeved uniform and very thin baggy trousers. While at that time, she didn’t meet the others since they were all drunk. The only ones she got close to were Khoshekh and Ersa. But as they traveled together, she got extremely close to Armin (not only because our DM Tucker and Yuri are dating. Both are boys), but because they were the only humans in that group.
Bittercup: A shifter fighter, Bittercup always protects those who are close to him. Being a lifelong friend of Ersa, he will stop at nothing to make sure she’s safe.. He constantly has a black eye but that never stops him from fighting. Although he’s more into the gunslinger {Tucker’s idea, not mine}. He has the background of a soldier, so everything he does (in his mind) is justified. He’s a chaotic good so let him be. He doesn’t really get along with the others (yesterday was his first outing and he kinda pissed off the others) but, if one of them trusts him, they have to give him a chance.
(As you could notice that I got rid of Sorah and Rasca, Their people quit the campaign. Too bad they'll be missing the new adventure we're in: Through the Looking Glass)
